Inshore charter fishing in Folly Beach still showed strength as big Redfish and some Trout continue to be caught. Reds schooled in large numbers on the flats with some groups of fish over 100 strong. We had to lay back and make long casts well ahead of the fish to get these finicky fish to eat. Baits of choice fluctuated between crab, mullet and Z-Man artificials in the paddle tail and straight tail versions. Trout are being caught on DOA shrimp and mud minnows floated along current lines. Most fish are being caught in 5 to 8 ft of water. We should start to see a warming trend in the weather soon and I expect the fish to respond quickly to the end of winter. Book your trips in advance to get a jump on the best tides. While you are thinking about when to join me have a look at this weeks greatest catches!
Lets go fishing!
