Frequently Asked Questions

What if the weather is bad the day of our charter?

Safety is our first concern. We will not fish if we cannot operate the boat safely. We will, however, be able to fish comfortably in most conditions. If you booked a Deep Sea Charter and the ocean is too rough to fish comfortably we may fish nearshore or inshore and lower the rate to the appropriate price. We live in a subtropical climate and rain showers are common and part of the daily forecast in our warmer months. Occasional light showers or rain in the forecast will not automatically cancel your charter. Feel free to bring along any attire you feel will keep you comfortable during our trip. If the weather or conditions are too extreme, the Captain reserves the right to shorten or cancel the charter. Weather cancellations are most often done the same day as your charter. Your Captain will communicate with you to let you know of any delay or cancellation of your trip. Weather cancellations may only be made by the Captain. If the Captain cancels the trip due to weather your deposit will be refunded.

What kind of boat will we be fishing from?

Your comfort and fishing experience is important to us. Our vessels are specifically designed to fish in our local waters and we will place you in the appropriate boat for the type of fishing charter you reserved and the number of people in your crew. All boats are center consoles and range from 18 to 29 ft. They are equipped with the latest electronics and safety gear, meticulously maintained engines and top quality rods, reels and tackle. Every Captain has many years of experience as a professional angler. Boats are assigned when reservations are made.

What payment options do you accept?

Our Captains prepare for your outing well before the day of your fishing charter. Therefore we require a $200 credit card deposit to book charters. The balance is due at the end of your charter. Final payment is accepted in cash (preferred) Venmo, Zelle, Visa and MasterCard.  All credit card transactions will incur a 3.5% transaction fee.

How do I book a charter?

Booking online through the website is the most efficient way to be sure that you get the date and time you want, we also take reservations by phone. When you book online you will be asked to enter a Visa or MasterCard number to complete your reservation. A $200 deposit is required reservation. If the date and time you want is not available please call, email or text me to see if I can arrange your charter for you.

What level of experience is necessary?

Everyone is welcome on board from the first time angler to the expert. There is no age requirement to join us. No one is too young or mature to have fun on the water. Come ready to have a good time and hunt down some fish, we will take care of the rest.

Is tipping necessary?

Tips are appreciated and customary, but not mandatory. The majority of our guests do tip the Captain for providing a pleasant outing without regard to the cooperation of the fish. Normal tips are 15-20% of the trips total cost.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellation Policy — If the charter is cancelled by the booking party at least 11 days before our scheduled date, there is no cancellation charge and your deposit or payment will be refunded.  Cancellations of 10 days or less from your scheduled date and your deposit or payment will be forfeited. Captains will not wait for parties more than 30 minutes late without contacting and providing an ETA within 45 minutes of the original launch time. Multiple boat reservations and gift certificates are subject to the same cancellation terms. Weather cancellations are at the sole discretion of the captain. Rain or rain in the forecast is not a weather situation that will automatically cancel your charter. Your deposit or payment will be refunded if weather cancels our charter prior to departure. If inclement weather or other situations shorten a charter, the Captain may pro-rate the trip to an hourly basis.

Reservation changes- Preparation for your trip begins long before you arrive at our location. We secure your vessel, prepare our tackle, purchase fuel and buy and catch bait based on your reservation and the number of people you booked for. If you wish to add more people to your reservation you are required to notify us 48 hours ahead of time. We may or may not be able to accommodate your changes but we will do our best. If you show up with less people than you made a reservation for without giving us 48 hours notice you will be charged the rate at which your reservation was made.

Equipment loss, mapping and tracking technology, your personal property, prohibited items

Equipment on the boat such as rods, reels, and other commonly used tools occasionally become broken, fall off the boat or otherwise become unusable. On very rare occasions these things happen due to customer negligence. The Captain reserves the right to charge the customer for the replacement value of the item or the fee associated with getting a replacement in short order. The payment will be added to the charter bill at the end of the trip.

Your personal belongings are welcome aboard, however, you assume all risks associated with bringing these items with you. Please be aware that electronics such as cell phones and cameras will be exposed to a harsh environment and can easily get wet. We will not replace, be held responsible for repair or reimburse customers for lost or damaged personal belongings. For your safety glass bottles and glass containers of any kind are prohibited on the boat. Spray sunscreen is prohibited on the boat. Lotion sunscreen is welcome.

What do you provide?

We provide all the equipment, licenses, bait and tools you will need plus a passion for fishing. We will provide a cooler with cold bottled water for you. You are welcome to bring a small personal cooler along for your food and drinks.

Can we keep what we catch?

Yes you may keep fish that are legal to possess and fish cleaning is included in the cost of some charters. Keep in mind all gamefish have strict size and possession limits. We encourage catch and release fishing.

If you have physical limitations it is your responsibility to let us know when you make your reservation so we can put you on a vessel that will best suit you and your crew. Every boat has weight limits for safe operation. For your safety and ours we may ask the approximate weight of individuals in your crew. We reserve the right to decline charters that will exceed the safe operational limits of our vessels. Though we welcome adult beverages, for safety reasons we do not allow over-consumption. Do not bring Illegal substances on your charter. Law enforcement will be contacted to intercept our boat and have you and your crew removed.

Can I change the number of people on my reservation?

You may change the number of people in your reservation by notifying us 48 hours prior to your charter. We will adjust your rate accordingly with 48 hours notice. Keep in mind that preparation for your trip begins long before your arrival. Last-minute changes can almost always be accommodated, though your rate will reflect your original crew count if you arrive with fewer people than you made a reservation for. Please avoid showing up with a higher crew count than you booked for without giving us 48 hours advance notice. This can negatively impact your charter and our ability to give you an outstanding experience.
