October fishing in the lowcountry is typically one where anglers can count on steady action. From Folly Beach and the waters surrounding Charleston the fishing has met our expectations. With schools of baitfish and shrimp filling the flats and creeks hungry game fish are not far behind. For shallow water anglers Redfish, Flounder and Speckled Trout can be caught along creek mouths, docks, oyster beds and drop offs using live or cut mullet, shrimp and Blue Crab. Over the past few trips it was not unusual to find fish so tightly grouped up we had a fish hooked up every couple of casts. If you are fishing deep water structure sharks and big bull Redfish have been taken on Blue Crab and a variety of live and cut bait including Bluefish, Ladyfish, Mullet and Croaker. I expect the fishing to be good through the end of the year as fish feed heavily to prepare for our short and mild winter. Come on out and go fishing with us. These happy folks in the pictures below did!
