Inshore charter fishing in Folly Beach and Charleston has been good this week. Though we have had days of heavy winds once we found a place to fish we were able to put some fins in the boat. It was the classic “fish where you can” scenario with the weather cutting down on the number of spots where we could effectively present our baits. Many times we opted for sheltered creeks and backwaters to target Redfish and Trout. My clients caught Redfish at high tide in the grass on Z-Man baits and cut mullet. On the outgoing tide they caught Trout along the grass edges on Mud minnows and DOA shrimp under popping corks. As the tide got lower we fished those same baits under docks and around creek mouths to boat more Redfish. Earlier in the week we pushed up on the flats in the early part of the incoming tide and boated several Reds over 10 lbs on Z-Man Smoky Shads and cracked Blue Crab. Get ready for some great tides and better weather coming your way and gear up at your favorite tackle shop. Better yet give me a call and I will put a trip together for you. Before you go have a look at this weeks great catches!
